Hey Legend! Saskia and I are current nestled in a cute little manor in south west UK, amazing county side, nature and food. (For real, pub food here hits different) Anyway I wanted to share some relationship advice that’s helped us over the years. We did long distance for the first 3 years and moved together in 2018. Did I mentioned we’re from opposite sides of the world? I’m Aussie and she’s Dutch, literal opposite side of the globe!!! Anyway here are the top 4 things we do to keep a healthy relationship. Regardless of how good or bad your bad your day was, make this a non negotiable. Communicate feelings Tell each other how you’re feeling, good or bad don’t hold them back. The other side of this is listening. Listen without judgement and understand how the other person is feeling before you respond. You’re not joined at the hip. The foundation of our relationship was built on distance, we both learned to be independent and not full rely on each other. We live together now, but we both take weekends away with friends and spend some time apart now and again. Absence makes the heart grow founder. Travel frequently We love travelling, exploring and finding new places. It gets you out of your routine from normal life which is important to keep a fresh mindset and mindful relationship. Do new things together. And that’s it for today! Peace! |
